Today marks the day we submitted our official appeal to Humana to try to get them to overturn their denial of the pre authorization for the medical repatriation of our mom. It was countless hours of an attorney and clinical team refuting and documenting every reason Humana denied the claim in the first place. It was countless hours of meetings, red tape, dedication and paperwork. It was submitting for Conservatorship of my mom and going before a judge to argue why I should hold such a power. It was serving aunts and uncles to notify them I was seeking conservatorship and it was only because the judge granted me limited Guardianship last Friday that I was able to submit an appeal to Humana on my mother’s behalf today. Did I mention that our mother is now battling pneumonia which makes her situation very dire?! Today marks the 72 hour clock that Humana has to approve or deny our appeal as we wait on pins and needles for their answer and my mom languishes in a hospital bed still not receiving the appropriate medical care she needs! Please send good vibes for Humana to make this situation right!
